In Loving Memory of Maggie Rayne Hurtado.
Our sweet Maggie Rayne Hurtado was only 13 years old when she left us after a long, courageous fight with leukemia.
Maggie was born with Down's Syndrome, but she never let that define her. She showed us every single day what true strength and joy look like. She endured two rounds of chemo, countless spinal taps, nights sleeping with a chemo pump backpack connected to her, and carried herself with a smile that lifted everyone around her. She showed us how to take life as it comes and still find joy. She was inspiring, to say the least.
Maggie's laughter and light filled her home, where she was adored by her mom, dad, four sisters, and her nephew. She showed all of us the meaning of resilience and unconditional love.
As her family grieves this unimaginable loss, they are also faced with the burden of funeral costs and medical bills. We are coming together to ask for help easing that load, so that Maggie's family can focus on honoring her beautiful memory.
As one saying goes, "Attitude is the difference between an ordeal and an adventure." Maggie embodied that every day, turning even the toughest battles into lessons in courage and love.
If you are able, please consider making a donation. Every gift, no matter the size, will help give Maggie the farewell she deserves and show her family the same love she gave so freely.
From her family: We will carry her smile with us forever. She will always be our brightest light.
