For Family of Benny Juarez Alcala Jr.

Donation protected

Due to the outpouring of sympathy, love, and support, our family set up this page to give people the opportunity to donate to the Alcala Family.

On August 24, 2022 Benny Juarez Alcala Jr.’s life was violently taken from our family. Benny (Gordy), 43, was charging his car in preparation to go out of town the next day for his son’s football game. While his car was charging someone murdered him in the parking lot. They shot him multiple times and left him in the parking lot.

Benny meant the world to our family. He was an avid marathon runner with the Greyhounds running club, he got his running spirit from his dad, Benny Sr. He was the first to be on the dance floor, and always put his family first. There isn’t a person who came into contact with Benny who wasn’t magnetized by his infectious personality. Benny’s mission in life was to help and serve other people. He was a bone marrow donor, which saved a young girl’s life. He volunteered as a Coach for the Delano Stallions Football League for 13 years. Served in the Ideal Club of Delano as a member and treasurer for 15yrs.

During his professional career, Benny served in the U.S. Navy from 1997-2002 as an AW2 Tactical Helicopter Search and Rescue Swimmer. He completed his education at CSUB; took a job with The` Kern County Sheriff Department as a Deputy Sheriff from 2005-2009. He held multiple positions within the California Department of Corrections, where he worked for 16 years. He was recently promoted at the Wasco State Prison to a Classification and Parole Representative (Counselor III).

Benny met the love of his life over 20 years ago, and on 8/23/22 they celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary. Together they had two wonderful sons, Anthony (17) and Maxx (14). They raised their family in Kern County. They both have been life long residence of this area, Valerie and Benny graduated from Delano High School where they first met. Benny is survived by his brother Richard, his mother Joanne, his wife and kids.
