For Debbie - In Honor of Dwain Peregrym

These last few months have been a journey for my family, especially my mother Debbie. What do you say when your mother is diagnosed with cancer less than two months ago? What do you say when the man you have called father for the last 36 of your life years passes away unexpectedly in the night? My dad always said the first words that come out of your mouth when you are going through a trial reveal what is inside your heart. So to these questions I say "God I believe in you, and my faith is in You."
I am starting this campaign on behalf of my mother Debbie Peregrym. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer in August 2019. She flew through her five hour surgery surrounded by her family.
She is currently in the midst of her Chemo treatment and is smiling the whole way through.
The amount of love my father Dwain Peregrym had for my mother truly cannot be put into words. My father loved people he truly did. I cannot count the number of people who he touched during his life. But if there is one thing that he loved more than life itself it was his Debbie. You can ask my mother and she will tell you. The amount of time and care he poured over her when she was going through this was amazing. He said again and again that she could not die on him as he would not know what to do without her.
We have all seen a scene in a movie when someone gets a call from a family member telling them that another family member has passed. We all try to relate but until you get that call it is hard to know the feelings that come over you. This past Saturday September 21st I got that call from my sweet mother Debbie. I could not have guessed that this call was coming. When I was driving to meet my mother at her house so many things ran through my mind. The one thing that was above all thoughts was the the care of my mother. Her greatest support both emotionally and financially is gone.
The one thing that my father would care for more than anything at this time is that my mother is cared for. She is surrounded by family and friends and is not alone. I do not want her to worry for one moment about finances as she goes through this period of loss and her fight and triumph over cancer. She will have both burial expenses and on going medical expenses to cover.
