For Anna Hebert

As most of you know, my mother, Anna Hebert, passed away from stage 4 cancer on August 18th, 2018. She was the most brilliant person I know. She was phenomenally multi-talented: she hand stitched our Christmas stockings and ornaments, would be able to fix any article of clothing (as well as making her own clothes through the years), she took beautiful photographs, and cooked amazing food that belongs in a five-star restaurant. She chose motherhood over being a doctor, which is something I am forever indebted to her for.

She also was a devoted wife. My father and her have the "happily ever after" love story and when they first met, it was literally love at first sight. I always said that if I have a love half as wonderful, dedicated, and beautiful as theirs, I would be set. When my mom got sick, not only did she not complain once but took on an "okay, what's the next step?" attitude, but my dad dropped everything to be right by her side throughout the entire process. Every doctor visit, every shot, every chemo and radiation treatment -- everything. People were stunned by my dad's dedication, but throughout their lives together he never left her side. They were a team, always.

Grieving is already paying a drastic toll on my family, but other factors are making the grieving process much worse. There are medical bills that were not covered by insurance, on top of the cost of the memorial service (that we planning for some time in October). While Michael and I are both away at school, my dad is doing a lot of these things alone. He is heartbroken and devastated over the loss of his soulmate (as we all are), and having to deal with these factors does not help. My brother and I want to be able to help him, but that is difficult as we finish our last years at school and get ready to graduate in May (Michael getting a Masters in Higher Education and me getting my Bachelors of Arts). I want to help my dad.

Anything helps-seriously. All funds would go towards bills and expenses for my mother's memorial service. If you can't donate, please share with your people. It feels weird to have to do a crowdfund in honor of my mom, but your help would help us heal.

Thank you for your support. Anna would be honored. I love you so much, Mom.
