Food, Gas, Hotel, and Living Expenses

Hi family and friends!

I am Brian and Rita’s daughter (Janice). As you may have heard my dad has been in the hospital since last Tuesday.

Last fall my dad was diagnosed with Membranous Neuropathy, which is a kidney disease. In order to treat it, doctors perform several rounds of Chemo-Therapy. If the treatments don’t work, my dad will eventually need to be put on dialysis and/or need a kidney transplant.

My dad and mom went to his checkup on Tuesday and the doctor admitted him due to his kidneys only functioning at 19%.

My dad received several more rounds of chemo treatment this week. He is really tired, has retained fluid and feeling weak. They will be starting paperwork tomorrow to get him on the transplant list. We do not know when my dad will be able to come home from the hospital.

If you know my dad, he is the hardest working man you’ll ever know. He never sits still. He would do anything for his friends and family!

As you may also know, while my dad is in the hospital, mom is still trying to take care of my brother (Anthony), whom had a Traumatic Brain Injury 4 years ago.

My dad is the sole financial provider for my mom, dad, and brother.

My dad is getting the best care at the V.A. Hospital in Iowa City and won’t be receiving any medical bills which is such a blessing. However, my parents still have daily living costs, groceries, gas, and hotel costs.

Kevin and I are trying our best to help our parents but we know it takes a village! I know that our family would greatly appreciate any gift of money you see fit. We appreciate all you have done for our family over the years!
