Fontez Watts Jr Medical Care

“The bond between a mother and son begins at conception and lasts a lifetime. It is a special bond that remains unchanged by time and distance. It is the purest love; unconditional and true. It is being understanding of any situation and forgiving of any mistake.” -author unknown
With this bond one can only imagine the pain I have had to endure knowing that my son is battling a sickness and that I am limited in what I can do to help or heal him.
Fontez Watts Jr., 17, is one of my four children and the only child of the late Fontez Watts Sr. Fontez Jr. was a typical healthy teenager until he lost his father in a tragic car accident on Christmas eve of 2019. What was supposed to be one of the most joyous times of the year, was no longer joyous for Fontez. He began suffering from unmanageable headaches very shortly after the tragic loss of his father and unknowingly it was his blood pressure that was causing his headaches. This was the day that would ultimately change our lives forever. This was the start of what may be viewed by many as an inconceivable journey of doctor visit and ICU stays and unfortunately my vibrant son has entered into stage 3 renal failure. His medical care will now need to be continued out of state. Being diagnosed with chronic kidney failure brings such mixed emotions for Fontez and as a mother I am dealing with my own rollercoaster of emotions. Slowly we are starting to come to terms with our new reality of hospital stays, Ronald McDonald House stays, surgeries, home dialysis treatments, and last but certainly not least, a new Kidney. Currently, he has been placed on the donor list for a kidney. Every day we wake up and hear the phone ring we pray for that life changing voice on the other end saying, “We found a donor!”
As we have adjusted to our new reality, I have taken family leave from work to allow the time to give my son the care he needs so he can win his fight with renal failure. As a mother, I will do everything within my power to help my son make it through this ordeal, but with such an unexpected situation came unexpected expenses and I know that I cannot do this alone.
All proceeds will go toward Fontez Jr. 's care; all of the travel, medical, and living expenses we will continue to accrue as he fights this battle. Your donations and prayers are most assuredly appreciated.
