I am raising money for a training program in Somatic Breathwork Therapy. I have been a massage therapist for 11 years, helping people with their physical aches and pains. Through my time in this work, I have come to understand that physical pain can stem from our minds, our past, our traumas, fears and insecurities and manifest themselves in our bodies, where we hold, guard, and protect ourselves. The path that I am now being called to follow is a therapy by which those mental blocks can be released, gently. This is Breathwork.
My career in massage has been incredible but after 11 years my body has begun to break down due to the labor-intensive nature of the profession. I have been called to other avenues within the holistic world and have humbly followed them. I put myself through Massage Cupping training, Oncology Massage training, and a Herbal Apprenticeship program in the last several years, all of which have taken a bit of the pressure off of my body. There is always the lingering fear that you will not be able to do what you love for the rest of your life and what then? How do you support yourself? I find myself blessed to have found a new and complimentary passion that will not only benefit me, but all of those around me.
The expenses that I face are these:
The program runs one 4-day weekend per month for 6 months at the Power of Breath Institute in NH
Travel to and from New Hampshire (from South Carolina) 6 times: $3500-$4000 (flight/rental car)
Tuition for the program:$4500
Program starts in May 2018!!
