FNT Clinic in Kinshasa

The Foundation Tamar Clinic & Safe place by the Not-for-profit organisation, Foundation Tamar is currently under development to support the emotional, psychological and physical needs of women effected by sexual abuse.

Foundation Tamar (FNT),  birthed in 2015 in London, UK has now expanded its works to Belgium and The Democratic Republic of Congo (D.R Congo, DRC, RDC) where the development of the clinic commenced on August 21st, 2018 when the land was purchased by myself Rachael Lasamba within the city of Kinshasa.

My experiences and environment from a very tender age continually steered me in the direction of supporting young girls and now women too. Presently, three years after the campaigns, the workshops, speeches, tours etc. I, along with my incredible colleagues have put the groundwork in place for the development of the first clinic and safe place for women and girls who have suffered abuse in D.R Congo – often described as the “rape capital of the world”.

In addition to the severe psychological impact, Sexual and Gender Violence leaves many survivors with genital lesions, traumatic fistulae, unwanted pregnancies, and sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV. Survivors are usually denounced, abandoned and disdained by their families and communities in DRC.

I am wholly and purposefully driven to do all that I can with what I have and can raise in a joint effort with those who have merged with me, to create radical change in the city of Kinshasa. 

Our main objectives are: 

- To  provide psychological support through holistic healing services.

- To provide general physical examination for genital trauma.

- To provide clinical after treatment for STD’s, Hepatitis B or HIV.

- To provide treatment where diagnosed for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder – both psychosocially and pharmacologically. 

- To work on the prevention of rape in Kinshasa.

The intention and strategy is to have the clinic built within the next 12-18 months, then to eventually introduce the gynaecologist, therapists, psychologists and trauma specialists providing treatments and programs to the women in need of healing and support.





All funds donated will be managed by myself along with financial assistance. We will be withdrawing the funds from my account and adequately utilising it towards the commencement of the construction. We will be keeping you all up to date as frequently as possible whilst you can also keep an eye out for all the programs, campaigns and events that we organise in London and Belgium via social media, our website and newsletter mails. 

A huge and heartfelt thank you to all those who have believed in me and my vision first and foremost, those who have trusted our work and have genuinely supported us thus far in any way. We have set up this page for anyone who wants to help sustain Foundation Tamar in this journey. The hard work well and truly begins now and we need YOU!
