My Speaking Tour in S. Africa

I have been an advocate for myself, and others with disabilities, for many years. Although officially "retired", I still give personal presentations to university audiences in my area, three of four times a year.
Telling my story of eventual triumph over years of institutionalization seems a very successful means of advocacy, as I educate my community about the realities of life with a physical disability - a reality which holds no less potential for personal success than anyone else you might meet on the street.
My friend Tammy moved to South Africa a few years ago, and hearing about the good work she has done there for children with disabilities led me to want to visit myself, and give some public presentations to the communities Tammy has dedicated herself to. And, honestly, it will be great just to see her in person!
I've started this GoFundMe campaign to pay the travel expenses for myself and two support staff on a trip to Capetown.
