Florida College Scholarships
Tax deductible
The Central Alabama Chapter of the Hutchinson Bell (CACHB) has a history of donating thousands of dollars each year in the form of scholarships to students who wish to attend Florida College. The main source of funds for those scholarships come from the annual Florida College Alabama Camps (www.fcalabamacamp.com) which may not even happen this year due to the COVID-19 restrictions. And if camp does happen, it will be a drastically reduced amount of campers. This means less funds available for scholarships; maybe even none at all! Please don't let that happen to these students; they need YOUR help!
The funds raised from Florida College Alabama Camps each year normally amount to over $40,000. That is at severe risk this year, meaning families will not receive the financial help they need. But you can help! Your tax deductible donation goes straight to college scholarships and will help students experience a fantastic education and experience at Florida College.
Florida College, in Temple Terrace, FL (just outside of Tampa), is a private college that provides higher education with a biblical perspective. It offers a post-secondary liberal arts education leading to a number of bachelor’s degrees, as well as an associate in arts degree. Florida College is a unique environment. All the faculty are Christians and promote a conservative biblical worldview. The faculty becomes the student's family, and they build lasting bonds with their students. Florida College has an incredibly low 13:1 student-faculty ratio, and both the faculty and fellow students make their college experience like none other. It is an experience that will inevitably change a student's life for the better and provide lifelong friendships and memories unparalleled by any other institution of higher learning. You can find out more at www.floridacollege.edu.
Regarding tax deductions, the IRS requires proof of all cash donations big or small, such as a canceled check or a statement or receipt from the receiving organization. If you make a donation of more than $250 in any one day to any one organization, your canceled check is NOT enough. You'll need an acknowledgment letter dated prior to your filing your tax return for the year in which you made the donation. You may request documentation from us by contacting Dan Fendley (President of the CACHB) at [email redacted].
