Flores Forgotten Children Emergency Aid Foundation

Donation protected

Dear Friends,
thank you so much for your kindness &  interest in supporting Ani & Flores Forgotten Children Emergency Aid Support.
Ani needs our support & she also gives us an opportunity to connect 100% of donations for medicines, life saving surgeries, emergency food, wheelchairs, prosthetics and disability aids to Flores sick, dying and disabled children.

Ani offer funders two things that few other humanitarian projects offer:
1. Ani & her volunteers can significantly grow your humanitarian donation to achieve big aid outcomes.
2. 100% of your donation will help to reduce the suffering of very impoverished & deserving forgotten children.

On behalf of the many sick & disabled & their families, thank you    Ani Budgen  & Peter Honey

1. OUR FIRST MISSION IS 'NO FLORES CHILD SHOULD DIE IN PAIN OR MALNOURISHED': as little as $20 will supply a months pain medicine for a dying child or adult.  Many are often malnourished so emergency food aid support may also be urgently needed. In these cases  next priority goal is to connect these victims to the free Govt (which has limitations)

2. CONNECTING CHILDREN TO FREE SURGERIES & GOVT HEALTHCARE: As little as $100 donation can grow your donations Aid output into  $5 - $10,000 of Free Govt Surgeries.    Many of the sick & dying children that Ani helps are unable to use the Govt Free BPJS hospital service & surgeries. To achieve this there is a required amount of procedure & paperwork. Among many reasons for this; is the mothers are often young and abandoned, they are scared, alone, without small money, may not be able to read or right and do not have birth or marriage certificates. What makes it more difficult is the poor roading & remoteness.
As little as $100 will enable foundation volunteers to do the difficult paperwork process - to do this we are badly need small funds to provide transport, simple food, occasional cheap overnight accommodations and medicines, bandages that the govt hospitals at first may not provide.  Also we may need to pay for doctors initial assessments and blood tests etc.

$28 Group Cleft Lip & Cleft Palate Surgeries: this has been a very successful project, we use social media and facebook to locate these  forgotten Cleft Palate children and in Lombok with volunteer doctors & hospitals we have organise surgeries for hundreds of these children. Some group surgeries we have done 70 children at a time and our volunteer teams task has been in organising, coordinating, providing simple food and transport. As little as $28 donated has produced a $5,000 aid output.   For remote Flores Children transport costs for mother & child can be a bit higher.

3. CONNECTING DISABLED TO PROSTHETICS, WHEELCHAIRS, WALKING AIDS & SUPPORT
As little as $10 will provide crutches, blind sticks & walking aids for elderly & disabled, $100 will provide wheelchair that will be reused when & if a person dies, prosthetics we just need to transport people to Bali for free prosthetics from foundation partners. We also receivespecial disability wheelchairs from WFK Foundation in Perth and as little as $50 - $100 will enable us to transport these chairs and one of our trained volunteers to assemble and correctly fit these valuable resources.

4. CONNECTING EMERGENCY FOOD AID to the sick, dying & Disabled.  Many of people we help are not only sick or chronically disabled but on top of all this they are malnourished. Our first mission here is to try to find family and locals to support with food.
AS LITTLE AS $10 or $20  is enough to top up a mother and child for a month.

MORE: FAQ'S & ABOUT ANI

FAQ: WHY IS THERE SO MANY SICK CHILDREN?  10% of Flores & Lombok NTB have a disability of one kind or another, in western societies we don't see so many as surgeries, less accidents and quick hospital care mean significantly less disabled. For illnesses a lot of the children's conditions are left for years with no help and the simplest of small things are left to turn into huge tumors.  Also rare conditions eg skin diseases etc are also often difficult to help asses correctly or get no attention and these also over time can lead to  unnecessary deaths and suffering.

FAQ: WHY DOES ANI HELP?
Ani was once a  Flores Forgotten Child who needed facial surgery, Ani understands suffering & what it is like to get no help, because she once was a forgotten child who needed surgery.  Most of Ani's life, Ani grew up with a benign tumour on her face not knowing if it might turn cancerous, today Ani has finished her masters in Business & accounting and now operates her own new Humanitarian & Environmental Foundation with many significant start up projects achieved and also being started.

ANI'S  PRIORITIES & MISSION:
Below is our foundation prioritisation mission which involves a lot of very sad work

Priority 1 (1st Mission): Pain NO INDONESIAN CHILD SHOULD DIE IN PAIN (OR MALNOURISHED)
HELPING RELIEVE PAIN IS TEAM ENDRI / ANI FIRST DAILY PRIORITY - AS LITTLE AS $30 A MONTH RELIEVES THE PAIN of a dying person and helps with simple food support.

As little as $100 can connect $5 to $10,000 of Free Govt Surgeries.
Many of the sick & dying children that Ani helps are unable to use the Govt Free BPJS hospital service & surgeries. To achieve this there is a required amount of procedure & paperwork. Among many reasons for this is the mothers are often young and abandoned, they are scared, alone, without small money, may not be able to read or right and do not have birth or marriage certificates. For as little as $100

Priority 2 (2nd Mission): Surgery CONNECTING LIFE SAVING MEDICINES & FREE INDONESIAN GOVT BPJS SURGERY’S
Many of the people we help are poor and often abandoned in shame by the people who should help - many of these people have huge tumors which have been left for 5 or more years - it is a super humanitarian crime . For As little as $100 the teams focus on getting these victims connected to the govt health system which is basic but covers surgery. The people we help often don’t have marriage or birth certificates, or even a $7 to be able to get the paperwork that opens access to this free surgery - our teams tirelessly do this standing in cues for hours eventually connecting these poor people to tens of thousands of dollars of free surgery.

Priority 3 (3rd Mission): Suffering CONNECTING BASIC DISABILITY AIDS & NON URGENT SURGERIES
Chronic Disabled Children and surgeries for Cleft Lip Children etc are important, many are suffering but do not require instant attention, Lombok has almost no strong Western Funded Foundations to help with Wheelchairs, Prosthetics, Hearing Aids etc. We work with and encourage NGO partners to provide these much needed resources.

Priority 4,5,6: Grow more foundation Volunteer Hubs & teams, Drive change & nudge govt to do more, lastly implement projects well, value  and make funders dollars go a long way so they continue to support us.
