This complex is in the same neighborhood that our long time friends Craig and his wife Sam Golubic call home: Cinco Ranch in Katy, Texas.
My name is Gwen Stutler. Currently I'm residing in Big Bear Lake, CA, though I've known Craig since high school when I lived in the Houston area. We were part of a tight knit group of whacky teens who worked together at Chick-Fil-A. Naturally, time passes and we all have our lives, but we still stay in touch. Since Harvey blew through Texas our group of pals has come together for a common cause.
We've all seen the devastation that Hurricane Harvey left in his wake. What is amazing is how nearby homes made it through reasonably unscathed. My parents are just a couple of miles down the road and the Brazos River came within a block of their home. They were spared. Not the case here.
Craig and Sam were told that they can't even go back to their neighborhood for 2 weeks! They made a visit to FEMA and were told that because they actually have flood insurance that they cannot help them. So what do you do when you can't even access your home to make a claim?
Determined to get results they went back to FEMA, though no word yet on what can be done.
It's been 11 days since Harvey wreaked havoc over Texas. Can you imagine what it must be like to have no idea of the state of your home... for more than a week?! They have been living in a hotel wondering what they have to go home to and when?
Craig and Sam need our help! They are good people with big hearts. We have no idea of what the costs will be to rebuild or if the home can even be salvaged. As far as I can tell, funds would help them with everything from hotel costs to clean-up and/or rebuilding. They know best what they need most in this moment. Please make a donation, it doesn't matter how big or small because it all adds up.
