Collecting for flood victims, Taunsa Pakistan

Hi, my name is Nadia, and I'm a Pakistani German from Toronto, Canada. Fortunately, I am safe from the flooding, but many friends and family are not.

This is a message from one of my good friends in Jalluwali, Taunsa, Pakistan:

"Pakistan is experiencing one of the worst environmental disasters in the world.

One -Third of the country is underwater.

Over 1,325 people have died, and 33 million have been impacted..

1600 have been injured.

325000 homes destroyed

The entire Pakistani nation, civil society and humanitarian organizations have stepped forward to assist in the rescue and relief efforts....

So we have decided to help our hometown, jalluwali (Taunsa Sharif).

Jalluwali has been more affected by this flood than any other village.

So far, there have been 200+ people who are homeless and looking for shelter and food.

The heart-wrenching part is that until now, no government relief action has started.

We are trying to support affected people by providing food to them, and this is the first setup of the relief program. The danger is not over yet, and water is still constantly damaging the village people.

Food is prepared daily for almost 1k people, and local funds have declined during the last two weeks.

Therefore I request all of you to help in this hour of need in whatever capacity you can(donations, zakat, asher etc.) at this stage.

All money raised will provide food, blankets and clothes for the flood victims.
