Flood Relief for Kerala Orphanage

Good Day Folks,
As some of you may have heard, my home state of Kerala in Southern India has seen some of the worst monsoon rains in over a century in the month of Aug this year, resulting in major flooding.
More than 800,000 people were displaced and over 400 souls have lost their lives, so far.
Although the waters have resided and most families have returned to what is left of their Homes, there is a great deal of restoration work to get the state and the people bounce back.
My friends and family are on the ground providing support through solidarity, donations and prayers to assist the local community in this most difficult phase of recovery.
To assist with the long term recovery, I am trying to raise some much needed funds for a small Orphanage that has been devastated by the flooding. I have attached some photos to help understand the extent of damage and challenges ahead. There is a lot of information online about the flooding, if you would like to know more.
The “Maria” - Palana Project is not just an Orphanage but also provides financial assistance to needy children to pursue their higher studies, mothers and elderly, who are despised and abandoned by their near &dear ones.
This is a beautiful social cause that was initiative 25 years ago. Ms. Joyce Sebastian started this journey by herself, who dared to help a few children in the backyard of her own home.
Your contributions can make a big difference to the life’s of these young boys and girls; some as young as four.To help raise some awareness and much needed funds, we are organising a small gathering in my back yard / Home with some nibbles and drinks on Thursday, the 1st of November.
