Flood Relief for Bill & Terri Skipworth

Donation protected

On May 18th, Gladwin, Mi got hit with heavy rainfall resulting in dams opening and the Tittabawassee River overflowing and flooding properties.

My father-in-law just retired two weeks ago after being a hardworking business owner for the past 32 years. He and my mother-in-law began the process of moving up to property in Gladwin that has been in the family for 60+ years. Every weekend they are up there doing projects to better it and prepare it for them to live there permanently.

The flood destroyed everything. Their RV will need major repairs, they lost a vehicle, multiple ATV’s, tools, grills, machinery, patio furniture, generators, our kids‘ ATV’s, the kids’ play scapes, countless sentimental outdoor trinkets and who knows what else we can not see yet because the waters are over knee deep. Other family members campers are a total loss. My in-laws are two of the most selfless people. They have never once hesitated to help anyone. They open the property to any and everyone to come camp and have a great time. As if losing everything right when retirement starts isn’t enough, my father-in-law needs heart surgery June 4th.

We are asking for donations to help them restore their land. To have some means to start over when their new beginning was just starting. We would love to be able to do some restoration for them while my father-in-law recovers.

Thank you all,
The Skipworth Family
