Fleming & Lloyd St. Martin Relief

Spende geschützt
The Leeward Islands were the first to be impacted by Hurricane Irma. The Fleming and Lloyd families have been residents of St. Martin for decades and have unfortunately experienced significant devastation and losses from Irma's path. 95% of their homes are not in living condition, the island has limited food and water access and transportation is difficult due to damage their vehicles have sustained from the hurricane and poor access to gas. As anticipated, there is also no running water or electricity.

Tamalia Lloyd is a dear friend of mine who is like a sister to me. We met in 2004 in Miami, FL while I was completing a fellowship with the CDC and in 2006 she moved to my hometown (Tallahassee) to attend Florida A&M University where she received her Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2011. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and is the godmother of my son Elijah. Tamalia currenty works as a Pharmacist in Maryland, where she has lived for the past 4 years with her sister Tara.

Since Irma, Tamalia has had limited contact with her immediate family in St. Martin via the What's App application. The reason I have created a page in her honor is to help Tamalia and her sister Tara (1) help with evacuation efforts for Tara's mother in law (2) assist family members who have returned to the states restart their lives (3) provide aid to family members who must remain in St. Martin to assist with the rebuilding process. Already, Tamalia has purchased a plane ticket out of her personal funds to help a elementary school classmate evacuate from the island to France with her child. By the grace of God, on September 14th, her mother and four of her nephews were able to take a humanitarian flight on Jet Blue to New York. Tamalia and Tara greeted them at the airport with open arms and grateful hearts.

During limited conversations with her family members who have remained on the island, she is trying to receive updates on the essential resources needed to help them not only sustain themselves but begin the rebuilding process. Funds raised will also be used to purchase resources to ship to the island once port services have resumed and a secure shipping location has been identified. Any amount donated is greatly appreciated.
