Flat Broke Farm's Medical Facility

Tax deductible
Please help us with the biggest fundraiser we've held thus far for our dear friends at Flat Broke Farm. Their incredible team is building out a fully functioning on-site medical clinic to be used for not only animals on site but also during natural disasters. This way, Flat Broke Farm will be able to provide full-service and post-op care for their own animals AND to their entire surrounding community.

They’ll be able to not only provide wound/burn treatment in times of disaster, but also perform year-round routine procedures like spays and neuters, vaccinations, dentistry, hoof and tusk treatments, wound care, etc. for the entire surrounding community. It is often very stressful on these animals when they are loaded in trailers and trucked to the nearest vet facility, UC Davis, for routine procedures that can hopefully now be done on-site!

During the Paradise fires, one of the key issues was there were plenty of trained veterinary technicians and wildlife rehabilitators who were trained and ready to volunteer their time but needed a facility to do so. All of the UC Davis stalls were overflowing with fire victims and so this would address a huge pain-point during times of disaster.

Vet Clinic (will consist of the following):

A large animal scale

Adjustable surgical lights

An operating table

Oxygen tank

Stainless steel cabinetry and medical supplies

Custom door with observation windows for training purposes

Additional Buildings:

Three post op stalls with concrete floors, drainage, lighting, and heat

Wash rack

Main office

Tack room

Volunteer center with lockers

Flat Broke Farm has already invested $38,000 in building the bones of the facility and needs our help putting the finishing touches on what will be a state-of-the-art medical facility.

And here's a great reference photo for you! This is what they barn originally looked like when they bought it (YIKES)....they've made a ton of progress!

They've cleared out all the junk and are well underway with the construction! They have already completed running high grade 220 amp power from the street to the farm, installing all new electrical wires with switches, installing heaters, refrigerator (for cooling vaccinations), and the pouring of concrete.

They still need to finish the interior, get the medical supplies, lighting, install cabinetry, and the rest of the finishing touches.

They are hoping to get the facility up and running before the next fire season. I have seen the amount of time, energy, and passion Erica's put into this project and I really want to help her make this dream a reality. It would mean so much to me if you could donate. Your donation will help not just one animal....many will benefit from this. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Love, Maddie (and Pickles of course)
