COPD 3rd Leading Cause of Death USA

Life presents many challenges. Somehow the human spirit carries you on.  However, I need your help as I attempt to resolve a challenge.
COPD /Emphysema (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is the third leading cause of death in the United States. Many can maintain quality of life during the early stages of the disease. However, as the disease progresses, activities become limited, i.e. , breathing becomes more difficult, losing independence causes anxiety, panic attacks, exacerbations and hospitalizations.
Because my ONLY sibling would not care for our mother who was ill at the time, I quit my job and moved back to the State to care for her until she passed.
In 2008 my home was destroyed by a tornado.
In 2010, I was hospitalized for 18 days. Diagnosis-respiratory failure-COPD/Emphysema.
Recently, both vehicles died.
My new residence needed extensive restoration, in excess of $50,000, which depleted my savings. Since then, everything has gone downhill. 
Independence is important. I kindly request contributions/ donations to purchase a USED a/c, well maintained, vehicle to make doctor appointments, grocery shopping, pulmonary rehab and other small errands in an effort to remain independent as long as possible.
Presently I have to depend on others. It is in my best interest to remain independent for physical, emotional and mental health and to remain active as long as possible before the disease worsens. 
There are four stages of COPD/Emphysema. I am Stage 3, (very severe) on oxygen. Doctors are, however,  amazed that I am able to do many things at this stage on a limited basis, with effort, however, that others can't. In that sense, I'm Blessed.
The main problem/obstacle is being confined to the house due to the lack of transportation.
In case of an emergency, as seen in many areas around the world, in recent days, I would be trapped.
