Fred's Medical Expenses

To all my fellow Fredfans, I am creating this GoFundMe in honor of our beloved Fred.  Many of you have contacted us asking how you can help or where you might be able to send him a gift or thought to let him know you are thinking of him as he recovers. As you might have heard, last Saturday Fred was admitted to the ER. He was here in Orlando visiting me after some of my own medical struggles. Yes, his heart is SO big that he and Eddy flew here all the way from Chile to spend some quality time and serve up a little TLC. As luck would have it, the Universe decided it was time that Fred needed a little TLC too!  As it turns out, Fred was suffering from diabetic ketoacidosis which then caused a severe case of pancreatitis. It was really scary there for a minute! But thankfully he is doing MUCH better and will hopefully be out of the hospital by early next week. Fred and Eddy have insurance that covers them...in Chile! But only a small portion can be applied to medical services overseas ($15k). At this time Fred has spent 5 days in the hospital, 4 of which he was in the ICU. We have NO IDEA how much this is going to cost BUT we are hopeful  to learn that there are some charitable programs through the hospital. Regardless, there will definitely be expenses...medical, travel, meals, etc. **The amount listed as the goal is just a number given that we have no idea how much the bills will be.  We promise that if ANY amount is left over that it will be donated to a worthy cause or charity. Fred is family to me and I can't imagine a world without him. His heart and generosity are traits that follow him into every connection. He is known for his random acts of kindness for both strangers and friends alike! Even while in the hospital Fred has made friends with ALL the nurses. He has shared with them about his life in Chile with Eddy, invited them to come visit and handed out little souvenirs. He takes time to learn their stories and sincerely loves getting to know each of them. Fred is a ROCk that many of us have leaned on and so with humility and grace I ask that you consider donating a small, medium or large amount.  Thank you for your friendship, generosity, support, calls, emails, texts, Facebook posts and LOVE! We all feel that this situation, although not ideal, is the most perfect it could possibly be because of all of you.
