Fix David's Brain

Donation protected
I will try to keep this as short and sweet as possible...

Several weeks ago my father had what he described as a "fainting" or seizure like spell. He fell down and was immobile for 10-15 minutes. This episode caused him to have tests run which has revealed a tumor on his brain. The doctors are unable to provide much information as to the severity of the tumor (cancerous vs non), but they have confirmed that it is large enough and growing, that it must be taken care of.

On June 14th, my father will have surgery on his brain to have it removed. At that point they will decide if additional treatment is required. The recovery time from this surgery is 4-6 weeks. In addition to medical fees this is time away from work that, like most folks, my father cannot afford.

David Derus is a loving father of two daughters (myself and Samantha Derus), and one grand-daughter, Emery Miller.  He has been a car mechanic since the mid 70s and is a true blue collar man who has been a hard worker his entire life. Even at 64 years old, he was recently regularly working 3 jobs to make ends meet.

David's faith in God is incredibly important to him. He worships and also volunteers his time at Faith Promise Church of Knoxville. He has maintained his positive outlook and has kept his trust with God alive. Because of his faith, he truly believes in putting anyone in need before himself...

This means asking for any sort of monetary donation for help through this time would never cross his mind. It is the same sense of pride that makes me uncomfortable also doing so. However, the desire to help my father far outweighs anything else. I know that every one has their struggles these days... I am no stranger to that. So I just ask, if you have ever met and know what an amazing man my father is, please help. Even if you've never been a victim of his silly dad jokes or "dad-ism" life advice, your help is still appreciated. Every dollar counts.

Humbly, I thank you.
