Five Helps A Lot by Lewis

Donation protected
Lewis’ birthday is at the end of November, and with that comes a few cards with money and the gift that he has asked for from close family. For the last few years Lewis has insisted on personally giving some of his birthday money (inside a Christmas card) to homeless people on the streets of Dublin.

While he won’t have his annual trip to the capital to see Santa in the Jervis Centre this year, usually followed by a dander down the city streets, he insists he will still carry out his annual act of kindness.

He has asked that for the year that’s in it if I could set up a Go Fund Me page to encourage people to donate €5 each, to help others that have very little, and spread a little Christmas cheer. Christmas cards are usually at the ready but this year it’s a virtual message for all. A few simple words and a note that will hopefully mean something to a few less fortunate people this Christmas.

He has kicked off the campaign with a few of his fivers, and hopes you can share what you can too, and help someone else.

We spoke about where he would like the money to go, and has picked Focus Ireland. We have made contact with Focus Ireland and Lewis is looking forward to passing on all monies to them for those in need this Christmas. He says "everyone should have a home and joy with their family at Christmas, and hopefully this little gesture will hep some families".

It’s heart warming to see this. Kindness is treating people with compassion and respect. Showing empathy toward others is so important.
