Fitch Football 2018 Season Fund

Donation protected

Hired in 2015, Mike Ellis Jr. inherited a Fitch Football 14-game losing streak.  The program had fallen to a historic low point not seen in 25-years.  The goal was to restore pride and respectability to a once proud and dominant program.  The 2015 team went 5-5.  The 2016 team went 4-6 with some tough loses, but the turning point came on Thanksgiving Day against Ledyard.  The Falcons pulled out a hard fought 6-0 win and recaptured the Colonel Ledyard Sword for the first time in over 10 seasons.  The 2017 squad built off of that win and completed the NINTH undefeated regular season in
Fitch history, at 10-0.  The Falcons are the reigning ECC Champs and earned a spot in the 2017 Class L Playoffs where they lost to Class L runner-up Masuk.  This coming season the Falcons look to take another step forward, by not only repeating at ECC  Champs, but competing in the Class L playoffs once again.

This 2018 season has seen close to 100 student athletes come out to join the Falcons, as they pursue their state championship dreams.  Participation
is at a new high and the coaching staff, players, and school are all ready for what should be a historic season.

The downside to this increased number of student athletes wanting to be a part of the "Bird Gang" is there is not enough equipment (helmets, away
jerseys, and other essential football needs) for the players.  With financial limited support, there is a gap between what is provided and what it
actually costs to run football program.

This Go Fund Me has been established by former Fitch Falcon Alumni to help this current team with some financial assistance for uniform and
equipment needs.

There is an immediate need for the football team to raise over $9,000.

$4,100 for 55 white jerseys and game pants
$2,000 for an in-game communication system
            $3,000 for new helmets

The players are beginning their fundraising initiative and are anticipating raising $2500-$3000.

Any amount donated would be EXTREMELY appreciated and will go to these uniform and equipment needs.

In the future the Falcon Alumni group will be establishing a 503c nonprofit organization that will assist in fundraising, scholarship gifting, and the
creation of a mentoring program. More information will be shared with Falcon alumni as it becomes available.
