Fishing for a custom rod reel

When I was a kid and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up my answer was always a pirate lol...now as an adult that answer is still the same hahah but I figure part of the skills needed to achieve that dream is being a good angler and without a good rod/reel it may not be possible. I at least want to give it a try just need some help getting one . Thank you and may all your dreams come true.
