Firefighter Minimum Standards Fund

I have wanted to become a firefighter since I was little. I have a great desire to serve my community and be a positive influence to as many people as I possibly can. Firefighting is one of the best jobs that will allow me to do that. I truly believe that this is the path that God wants me to be on as he has been opening doors that seem impossible and I believe that I can have an impact on countless lives.

I finished the EMT program in Dec with a 4.0 GPA and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The only problem, now, is that I have no way to pay for the Fire Academy and it is not covered by financial aid.

Unfortunately, my mother, due to health issues, has been unable to work for the last eight months and won't be able to for the foreseeable future (although we remain hopeful that things will change.) She has been a support for me in every other way possible and I want to be able to help her as I am able. The program starts on the 10th of Feb but the first payment is due on the 27th of Jan. I'm asking for help so that I may realize my dream to serve the community and help as many other people as I can.
