Fire Relief Fund for Hannah

Donation protected
If you watch or read the news, then you already know that last week in Texas was pretty rough. A record-breaking winter storm moved in bringing with it unprecedented snow and ice accumulations along with sub-freezing temperatures for days on end. Maybe normal stuff for our northern neighbors, but it brought Texas to a standstill. Most of us had to endure the loss of electricity, which also meant the loss of heat, or no running/potable water for days on end, or both. Worst of all many people lost their homes to water damage or fire, and some even lost their lives.

At South Park Animal Hospital in Austin, TX, one of our team members, Hannah, faced the unimaginable when she lost her home to fire. Thankfully, Hannah, her roommates, and all of their dogs were not physically harmed, but they now face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives. We wanted to start this fundraiser to assist Hannah in doing just that. Any amount that you are able to donate is beyond appreciated and will go directly to Hannah.

In Hannah's own words:

'one week ago, my roommates and I woke up with no electricity in a winter storm. strangers started banging on the doors yelling "fire," so we thought, "hey, fire department is going to come and say no big deal." we grabbed our dogs and our purses and left. after the third fire truck arrived and flames started to shoot into the air, we realized things weren't going to be so easy. we were left in the cold with no water, no electricity, the clothes on our backs, and three very stressed out dogs. family got us an Airbnb to take shelter in, but there was no heat or power all over Austin. we were unable to gather any resources, as the roads were either blocked or impossible to pass. after two very cold and stressful nights, a friend opened up his home and heat to us. THANK GOD. once our brains thawed out, we signed a lease and moved into a beautiful home on Friday afternoon. I've felt all the feelings there is to feel, but the most important is gratitude. thank you to everybody, friends and strangers alike. the outpouring of love, funds, and resources in a time that wasn't easy for anybody was overwhelming. people from 8 hours away moved mountains to get us relief and people here did everything they could in the snowpocalypse to help us. I am in awe of the love and care that was freely given to us. but many are not as fortunate as we are. if you have available resources or water to donate, please consider helping out in the community where you can. a sudden new outlook on life was not something I was prepared for or expecting, but my roommates and I are safe now and will rise even stronger from this. all I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you.'
