Fire Relief Fund - Anthony K.
Donation protected
Yesterday morning while Anthony K., owner of the Woodland Corner Store, was at work, he received a notification from his security system on his phone, that the smoke detector had been activated. To his horror, there was indeed an active fire. He rushed home to find firefighters already on the scene, and his home in flames. The neighboring unit was also destroyed. Thankfully nobody was home, and his beloved dog Jasper was with him at the store when the fire occurred. “No one was injured, but eight people and four pets were displaced.” (The Columbian Article Below)
Obviously, especially during these hard times for everyone, this is a very hard hit to take. Anthony is a former firefighter himself, a veteran and an outstanding community member, helping many causes and others as he can. This year has been an extraordinarily difficult one, facing the struggles of trying to keep his store up and running during Covid-19, so this fire is undoubtedly a major set back.
We are asking that the community come together to help assist in anyway they can, financially or otherwise, while he awaits insurance to help.
Expected Expenses:
- Moving Expenses to get into a new place.
- Replacing all household items damaged in the fire - all they have is the clothes they were wearing.
- Time off of work to sort through everything and get resettled.
Donations will go directly to Anthony.
Thank you for anything you can do to help him in his time of need.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me, Cindy Heer - family friend and store marketing assistant - (360) [phone redacted].
