Fire relief for the Rupert family.

Hello,

My name is Derek Dassatti, resident of Silverthorne and teacher at Summit Middle School. I'm a friend and former colleague of Mike Rupert, and a huge fan of his family. I've created this Go Fund Me to help this family in need. We've all been watching the tragedy unfold with the fires in Louisville, Superior, and Boulder County. When we see events like this, we often feel helpless, wishing there were something we could do. Well, there's a family that many of you know very well who could use some help right now.

 

The Rupert Family - Mike, Laura, and their daughters Talia and Joely - lost pretty much everything that they owned yesterday, when the Marshall Fire ripped through their community. The house that they were living in burned completely to the ground in the fire. Fortunately, they are all safe, as they were away when the fires broke out. However, because they were away, they were not able to save a single item from their destroyed home.

 

Mike and Laura were longtime residents of Summit County, having lived here from 1993-2021, before moving to the Front Range this past summer. During that time they have been dear friends, dedicated educators, and overall amazing members of the Summit community. Mike taught in Summit School District from 1999-2021, Laura from 2004-2021. Their daughters are avid hockey players, wonderful students, and just as sweet, if not more so, than their parents! :-)

 

I can't imagine what they are going through right now. They will need support in rebuilding and returning to any sense of normalcy. Let's show them the amazing love and support that we pride ourselves on here in Summit County! All funds raised will help the Rupert family with buying essentials such as clothes, furniture, food, and temporary housing. Thanks!
