Fire at ticker art studio

Hi I'm Lisa von Muller, recently my friends and fellow community Artists Lucy Beach and Nikki Wellington set up Ticker Art studio, an amazing studio /workshop/retail space in Belgrave, quickly it provided a home for 7 artists, a dynamic retail shop for 49 plus artists and had a thriving workshop area. Nikki and Lucy do so much for our community including the recent Belgrave christmas decorations , youth art programmes, Lantern Parade and had several community art programs set for this year and they are now in need for community help and support.

Tragically 2 days before Xmas and at the start of the tourist season an act of arson took place targeting their storage room underneath Ticker Art Studio, setting it ablaze. Although the front may appear unaffected, the fire spread through a significant portion of the building, impacting the roof and floor. The majority of the workshop space, several studios, and back rooms have been devastated by the fire, causing substantial losses for many artists, including Lucy and Nikki. We are reaching out for support to aid Ticker Studio during this challenging time. The funds collected will be directed toward replacing equipment, tools, art materials, and lost works of art.

While Lucy and Nikki had insurance, many resident artists did not, and the coverage falls short of the extensive losses they face. The rebuilding process is estimated to take 6-12 months, during which the raised funds will help secure a temporary home, allowing them to continue working and teaching.
