FIP Treatment for Hazel
Donation protected
Hazel is a four-month old, adorable, sweet, and loving domestic long hair kitten, who has been diagnosed with the uncommon, fatal FIP virus. Hazel's story is a unique one. She was rescued by the Long Island Last Chance Rescue Agency from the kill block in South Carolina. This little fighter then moved to her foster home on Long Island, where she met her fur-ever parents, Chris, Brooke, and Colleen.
Hazel moved with her parents to her permanent home in Manhattan and has made a lasting impact on their lives. She loves her bed, her spot on the window sill, and sitting on her mom's lap at night to watch TV. She is a happy kitty, that is until FIP struck.
FIP is an uncommon and fatal disease in kittens. It is attacking Hazel's blood stream and vital organs. After an anemic episode which caused a seizure, Hazel's parents rushed her to the hospital and the vets have been doing everything they can from draining 100ML of fluid in her abdomen to giving her a blood transfusion. Although this is grim, hope is not lost for this little lady.
There is a cure. The vet has recommended a new cure for this virus, however, it is very expensive. This treatment will not only prolong Hazel's life, but it will SAVE her. There is an extremely high probability that with this cure, Hazel will make a complete and thorough recovery.
Hazel's parents are ready to take this initiative. They want to do anything they can to save their baby. Chris, Brooke, and Colleen are college students who are giving everything they can to afford this cure. But now they also turn to you.
We are asking you to help save our Hazel, and consequently, contribute to the research behind curing this infectious disease. Anything helps. Any small amount you are able to contribute, will help save Hazel's life, and as her parents we would be forever grateful.
Please consider helping to save our baby. She has given us so much joy in our short time together. We love her, and ask you to please consider helping us save Hazel's life.
