Fiona’s New Leg

My 8 month old puppy, Fiona fractured her right hind leg on the growth plate on December 9, 2020. She was at the dog park running a lap by herself and dipped into a shallow hole. Her leg buckled from underneath her and she had to be carried out of the park. She spent 16 hours at the emergency vet where she had her leg x-rayed, splinted and a temporary cast was put on. They were recommending surgery. The next morning,  I took Fiona to our family vet to get them in the know of her ER visit and to review her x-rays.  Because of the severity of the fracture, our family vet was also suggesting surgery to have pins placed in her leg. Needless to say, the vet expenses are piling up between the ER vet and our family vet.  Fiona is only 8 months old and running is her most favorite thing in the world, so surgery is necessary in order for her to be able to walk normal again as well as run.  Fiona was given a small grant through the Humane Society of Minnesota, but there is still a very large balance owed. If you feel led to donate, Fiona and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  I’ve waited so long to have her and want the best for Fiona.
