Finn Hall, used to be known as Summer hall

In Memory of Summer Hall known as Finn

We are all shocked and heartbroken to share that on Friday, 18th November 2022, Finn decided to take his own life at home in his bedroom.

Some people may know of Finn as Summer. Finn was transitioning from female to male and wanted to be addressed as Finn.

A loving family of five children suddenly became four on the 18th of November 2022. Our family suddenly must face the reality that life as they knew it had turned upside down and showed them how challenging life can be.

A future full of fear, uncertainty and emptiness is now what surrounds them. My sister Hannah’s kind, caring, beautiful son took his own life by hanging himself after seeing no other way out. I’m so sad to be saying this after he has lost his long battle with mental health far too young, just a 16-year-old child.

We would love to give Finn the send-off he deserves and support the family in doing this. Any donations, however big or small, will be gratefully received.

Finn, our gorgeous beautiful handsome prince, was a pillar of strength! He battled right until the end. His family and himself begged for the help he so desperately needed time after time. Finn's battle with mental health started at 11 years old with a eating disorder. Professionals ignored this ‘he is a child’ and ‘it’s just a phase’ are some of the comments made by professionals.

By 13, his pain had become too much and starving himself was not enough. He needed to take the pain away, even if it was for a few minutes, so he started self-harming- cutting, deep cuts, not just scratches. Again, the professionals would say he will get through it, and he has emotions like all teenagers, he was too young for mental health help.

By 14, Finn was taking overdoses. With several hospital admissions, CAMHS would constantly dismiss Finn after asking, " Will you do this again? Finn's simple answer, no, was enough for them.

By 15, as if this wasn’t enough, Finn started drinking neat bleach, cutting, overdosing and had an eating disorder. Finn and his family constantly begged for somebody to listen to these cries and do something before it was too late. It was at this point Finn started his transition from female to male. Finn

Finn was just a child, he lit up every room he walked into, had a beautiful soul, and was always helping others. He volunteered at a youth group; he was involved in many fundraisers. Finn was very bright and had a promising future ahead of him. He went to college and loved to learn. Finn loved putting a smile on other people’s faces while struggling to put one on his own. He had a job as a carer and would genuinely do anything for anyone. If only his mental health problems were taken more seriously by the professionals involved, I wouldn’t be writing this today.

Not only did Finn suffer every day of his teenage life, but now his family must struggle every day for the rest of theirs. Hannah has all these unanswered questions yet must give answers to his younger siblings. Therefore, I’m asking if you could donate as little or as much as you would like to help relieve some pressure from his family at this awful time, so they do not have to worry about the financial pressures to give Finn the best send-off he deserves.

Any donations, however big or small, will be gratefully received. If you cannot donate, could you share this link and check on your friends and family every day!
