Financial Support After Emergency Spinal Surgery

My amazing best friend recently had to under go emergency spinal surgery just before Christmas. This was a complete shock and her family had no time to plan for her absence and extended absence from work as well. Due to this they are struggling financially and are at risk of losing their home and vehicle as they don't have Lorrie-Ann's income right now. They don't need an exorbitant amount of money just enough to get them through January. Unfortunately due to Lorrie just recently starting a new job she doesn't qualify for short term disability. If you are able to help even just a little every bit helps them.
Below is her story:
I was dealing with what I thought was a pretty bad herniated disk. I hadn't been injured, it just kind of snuck up while sitting at work one day. I went to emergency and was given a couple prescriptions to loosen it up and relieve the pain. After a few days of taking the medication it wasn't helping so I went to a clinic and got a new set of medications. The next day I was in such unbearable pain and unable to walk that I had to return to emergency, I was given a few tests and instantly admitted. I was told I had 'Cauda Equina Syndrome' which is very uncommon, but extremely serious as it can cause paralysis. I was at the local hospital for 3 days before being sent to another hospital an hour away on December 12th for my surgery. It was done at 10pm that night and I was out of surgery by 2am.
Leading up to this I had recently switched from doing Insurance to an office position for a local company. I was about a week away from my 3 months probation period being over so I was not entitled to sick pay or benefits. My prescriptions before surgery were approximately $250 in total, because of this I have not been able to fill my prescriptions for my recovery.
