Final Expenses for Lacy

Donation protected
Lacy  Donaway passed this week after her 18 year battle with brain cancer. Unfortunately, due to her early diagnosis she was never able to get life insurance. Her family needs your help with her final expenses. Lacy's life touched many people in such a positive way and the following is the beautiful obituary her loving brother wrote:
Lacy Marie Elizabeth Donaway

On 20 August 2018, in the comfort of home and surrounded by her loved ones, Lacy Marie Elizabeth Donaway was called to heaven as an angel of our Lord. Lacy was a beloved Wife, Daughter, Granddaughter, Sister, published author, and doting Mother to her “fur babies”. She was a fighter. Her life embodies what we should all strive for—faith, love, compassion, patience, willpower, and forgiveness—and she left an indelible mark on all who were blessed to know her. Lacy will be forever in our hearts.

Lacy was born on 15 May 1990 in Loveland, Ohio to her loving parents Beverly Halcomb and Frank L. Harrington III, grandparents Bill and Mary Halcomb, and her older brother Frank Forester L. Harrington IV. She spent her younger years collecting sea shells on the beach in St. Augustine, Florida, catching crawdads in the creeks of Kentucky, camping in Put-In-Bay, Ohio, and playing soccer and cheerleading with her friends in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lacy believed that nature offers adventures, just as life does.

Around the age of 10, Lacy was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer; however, she was always a fighter and knew the Lord was with her. Even through the struggles of the next 18 years, Lacy realized that we must stay strong to face all of life’s battles. She was a warrior who believed that “even when some days seem really bad, there is always a rainbow after the storm… if you look for it. Have hope.” In 2015 and with the help of her Mother, Lacy wrote and illustrated “The Life of Lacy”, a book chronicling her journey and life lessons. She dedicated herself to helping others and focusing on what brings us together, instead of what divides us.

On 3 October 2015, during a beautiful ceremony at Northern New Home Baptist Church in Goshen, Ohio, Lacy married the man of her dreams, Harrison Donaway. Lacy thanked God for leading her to Harrison, who was caring, kind, and loved her for her. She said that “whenever I see or think of him, I smile.” When not spending time with her loving husband and family, Lacy could be found enjoying a mocha frappe on the front porch, listening to the birds in her grandparents’ garden, or watching her dogs.

"Life is a precious thing. Sometimes people feel that their lives are not. To me, my life was important… It’s time for me to let go. I have to say goodbye to the past and say hello to my future and reality. If you have a dream, shoot for the moon and stars. Believe in yourself. If you do, maybe all your dreams will come true… Remember, your life is an adventure. And, if you believe in God, the adventure is eternal!"
