DOCUMENTARY: Facing HIV in PNG

Donation protected
Over eight years the Lost Kites team have been researching and filming ways to help children at risk around the world. While filming the award-winning documentary Lost Kites (now on Amazon.com  & Amazon.co.uk ) we looked at family reunification, fostering, adoption as well as encouraging orphanages to transition their model from traditional shelters to family reunification centres. These are all important ways to protect children at risk and change the future of our world….

But what If we could see families strengthened and preserved before any separation takes place?

Historically around the world and indeed presently HIV has been a major factor causing family breakdown, child separation and orphanhood. Now there’s an opportunity to work on a documentary in Papua New Guinea with the focus of local stories & local heroes enduring HIV, standing up against stigma and preventing the diseases spread. We’re also working with national leaders to equip them with a resource they can use now and in the future.

Will you join with us on this journey as we share a variety of hopeful stories that can change the circumstances of families in PNG?

In this film our goal is to work behind the scenes to film and celebrate the stories of Papua New Guineans in an effort to limit the spread of this disease.

If this can happen children will be able to grow up thriving in healthy families and not separated and alone.

Your donations will help us with our third round of filming in Papua New Guinea for the month of February.

We aim to film stories that encourage those with HIV to not live in shame or isolation but to receive testing, correct medication and stop the spread of the disease. This will take place alongside and under the guidance of local Papua New Guineans, more specifically the non-governmental Papua New Guinean organisation iCare4U.
