Cancer is part of Leslie’s story, but it doesn’t define who she is. To her family and friends she is a kind and compassionate woman who passionately follows Jesus Christ. She’s the love of her husband’s life. To many she’s the Preschool Ministry staff member who loves their child. She has two spoiled puppies named Bonnie and Chloe…well they aren’t really puppies any more.
In April of 2012 Leslie was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Over the last two years she has endured many different forms of cancer treatments including chemotherapy, radiation and a stem cell transplant. These treatments have not resulted in complete long term remission. Because of this Leslie has qualified for a special clinical trial immunotherapy treatment for Hodgkins Lymphoma. The treatments will take place in one of the premier cancer hospitals in the world – Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
The doctors are optimistic about the treatments’ potential in providing remission, and hopefully a cure for Leslie.
Leslie’s travel costs to receive the treatments are going to be significant. The treatments will take place every two weeks, for up to two years. Conservative estimated costs for her travel in the first 12 months is $10,000. All of us together can remove the enormous financial burden for David and Leslie. Please consider making a donation today. The funds will be used exclusively for medical expenses and travel expenses associated with Leslie’s treatment.
