Fighting Cancer for Gary Wright

Gary Wright’s letter about his family:
Kathy and I met in 2003 playing volleyball on a church league. We married in September 2004 and bought a house in Grain Valley. We have an 11 year old son (Garrett) and 9 year old twins (Gage and Addie). We are an active family. Our kids are involved in multiple sports. We love to camp, ride bikes and play games.
In September, I started peeing blood. After several tests and a biopsy, I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. This was a huge shock as I am only 46 years old. I started my first round of immunotherapy in November.
The positive side is the cancer was caught early. The negative side is that it is an aggressive cancer with a high probability of coming back even after treatments. I will have to go through treatments for a minimum of 3 years and followed closely for the rest of my life.
Our family is extremely thankful. Thank you to everyone who is donating, helping and praying for our family. We can’t thank you enough.
