Fight Against Cancer wtih Kassie!

Our friend Kassie recieved a terrible news from her physician after her follow up. The doctor stated that Kassie reached the last stage with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), better known as primary liver cancer and she have 6 months to live as it has metastisized to her lymphs which is already spread into her blood cells. She was davasted when the doctors said "there was nothing that could be done".
 
Many people who grew up with Kassie can agree that she has the most genuine heart a person can have. 

She immigrated to the US just like many of us and started grade school in 1980 and eventually graduated from Jonesboro high school to pursue a degree at Devry University.  Since then Kassie has worked in the transportation industry and can pretty much open her own business with her extensive knowledge and expertise.
Throughout her career she has been very active in the Laotian community and was one of the co-founders of Laotian American Society, nonprofit 501c3 organization.  She has been instrumental in supporting the cause since its inception throughout the years.  Kassie has actively participated and promoted cultural awareness jumping in whenever she could to showcase Lao traditional dance performances throughout various functions and events.  Having volunteered by her side I realized Kassie has such a gift and natural ability to work with kids in coaching and mentoring their abilities. 
There are so many reasons I am here standing before you today to ask for your help and support in keeping hope alive for Kassie.  When I learned of Kassie’s devastating cancer diagnosis on May 19, I along with those closest to her could do nothing but breakdown and cry bucket of tears. When a person goes to the doctor or hospital we hope to hear of medications, procedures or surgeries.  No one, not even Kassie would expect to be sent home with only months to live.  After the tears and shock I realized we had to fight, we have to do something, anything.  For this reason I am here to urge you all to fight with me and be the strength, love and hope that Kassie needs so dearly at this time.  We need all of your support to fund a holistic approach which has been effective in extending the livelihood of those with cancer.  The treatment is not covered by insurance companies and it is located in Mexico.  The funds will go directly to this cause and provide Kassie a chance to live.  Please remember this could happen to any of us…..

"With a broken heart and tears in my eyes, I can say that this has been by far the most difficult moment in my life history... I know what the cancer and the treatment can do to a body and mind as I've seen the transformation with my beloved father. Sometimes I wonder if the treatment is worth it in the long term. It seems that do more harm than good. There's nothing more painful than watching someone at the end of his/her life because of cancer. I'm Trying to smile and remain positive regardless of what the outcome is.
I am thankful for what life given me and so blessed for what I have received.
