Help support Paige's fight against AML!

March 30th 2021 was just like any other day in the life of 22 year-old Paige Devine Redlin's busy life. The month of March was a crazy one, her long-time boyfriend Rod had just returned back to the states from being in France for 5 months, the Young Women In Business Leadership conference that she had planned took place, all on top of working towards her masters degree during a pandemic.

With all of that having occurred over the last few weeks she began to feel burnt out and tired. She didn't think anything of it until it had been 2 weeks of barely being able to get out of bed and do normal activities without feeling fatigued. She went to urgent care in Ohio near her school thinking it would be a quick visit. They noticed her levels were way off when they did blood work & she was immediately sent to the closest ER. After a long night and a terrifying drive for her parents from SCS to Ohio, the next morning they received the news that Paige has Acute Myeloid Leukemia and that she needed to start treatment immediately. In 48 hours, Paige and her families world was turned upside down.

Paige has already begun an aggressive chemotherapy treatment that will keep her in the hospital for the next month. She is in good hands at Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit, but there is a chance that chemotherapy may not be enough and she may need a stem cell transplant. We are reaching out for Paige and her parents, Laura and Scott Redlin, to the community, her friends, family, and anyone who is willing to help donate towards her medical bills and keeping her comfortable during her treatments and after. She has a long battle ahead of her with a lot of unknowns.

Paige was born and raised in Saint Clair Shores, from a young age she took an interest in school and being involved. Starting her freshman year of high school she attended both Lake Shore and MMSTC. MMSTC is an accelerated learning program that Paige applied for in the 8th grade and was accepted into. She had been involved in student congress since elementary school and went on to become her high school class Vice President. With her great dedication to school she earned the title of valedictorian of the class of 2017. After finishing high school Paige went on to continue her education and involvement at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She is now a Full-Time MBA Student who continued her journey at BG after graduating in May of 2020 with a double Specialization in Finance and International Business and was expected to graduate in August of 2021. During her time at BG, she was deeply involved in Women in Business Leadership holding positions like: VP of Recruitment and Engagement and President during her time as an undergrad. Taking over as program director, she created the vision of the Young Women in Business Leadership Conference 2021 Virtual Event that took place just 3 weeks before her diagnoses. Paige created the concept of this event all on her own, which was to empower and encourage other women in business to be great.
Paige and I have been best friends since we were 12 years old, we are practically sisters. She always knows what to say and when to say it. Paige wants nothing more than to see the people that she loves succeed and be happy. A week ago if you would have asked me about our friendship I would have told you that Paige is my rock, voice of reason, and my keeper. After all of this its now my turn to step into the shoes she's been filling and do this for her. I could go on for hours bragging about her, and I usually do haha. Paige is one in a million and we are all so lucky to have her.

She isn't finished leaving her mark, this cancer has no chance because it chose our Paige. She's too strong, too persistent, too much of a fighter. With all of your support, we've got this!
