On February 2, 2018, our world came to a screeching halt when our three year old son was diagnosed with Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma, a rare and deadly form of pediatric cancer.
His symptoms seemed trivial enough: an occasional low grade temp and some tummy pains here and there. We checked in with his ped several times and being that it was cold/flu season, we didn't think too much of it. Nothing prepared us for the devastation that lay ahead when we finally realized: something just isn't right. His fever refused to abate, his tummy pains increased and he went from running around the house to laying around the house.
Since his diagnosis, A-bear has been fighting back with the courage, strength and perseverance of a bear, never letting this disease get the best of him. He has completed 6 rounds of induction chemo, a 95% tumor resection, two stem cell transplants, and radiation therapy. He is currently undergoing immunotherapy.
All we ask is for your thoughts, prayers and encouragement. If you feel compelled to support us financially, please know that all funds will go towards out-of-pocket medical and daily expenses such as gas, parking, food, toys, games and life experiences for A-bear.
