Fight for Tanner
Donation protected
In October of 2018, Tanner (aged 13 year at the time) was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. We were so surprised how fast the cancer had progressed, but optimistic about treatment as the wonderful doctors at the Alberta Children’s Hospital had said this was a beatable type of cancer and everyone should stay positive. It was a hard road of chemotherapy, but after several rounds and then pet scans and a few biopsies, the good news was given in May of 2019 that the cancer was in remission. We are sad to report that now, not even a year after the cancer was cleared from his system, that it is back. It is in parts of his neck and throughout his chest.
Tanner is a fighter and we know he will get through this once again, but with the new chemo treatment plan, he will need to spend much more time in the hospital over the coming months. For the family, this means extra time off of work, more trips back and forth to the hospital and added expenses. To beat this, Tanner will need several costly medications, most not covered by provincial health care.
The family has been so fortunate to have the love and support of family, friends and generous strangers through Tanner’s first battle with cancer. Your continued support now will help him get through this once again, and hopefully relieve Tanner from this illness once and for all. Thank you for helping us through this difficult time, not just financially but with your thoughts and prayers as well.
