Hi Everyone!
I am making a GoFundMe account on behalf of my dad, Rolando de Dios.
He has been diagnosed with Myelofibrosis. According to MayoClinic — Myelofibrosis is a serious bone marrow disorder that disrupts your body's normal production of blood cells. The result is extensive scarring in your bone marrow, leading to severe anemia, weakness, fatigue and often an enlarged spleen.
Myelofibrosis is an uncommon type of chronic leukemia — a cancer that affects the blood-forming tissues in the body. Myelofibrosis belongs to a group of diseases called myeloproliferative disorders.
He has been going through a lot the past year, often needing blood transfusions every week, numerous doctor appointments and will soon start radiation.
He needs a bone marrow transplant urgently. We finally found a donor, his sister in the Philippines is a match!
We need your help to make this possible! Unfortunately, insurance does not cover everything.
Currently, we are in the process of flying his sibling out here through a medical visa.
His procedure will be done at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles, California which will require us to travel back and forth from Las Vegas. We are required by the hospital to stay within 60 miles while he is admitted. He will need a caregiver 24/7 which requires my mom to be with him. It is possible that he needs to be in the hospital for a few months (he has to go through chemotherapy prior to having the transplant).
