The Miller Family needs our help

Carnation/Duvall -The Miller family is new to our community and in need of our support! Jason and Sara Miller recently decided to make Carnation their home as career’s moved them away from family on the east coast. Sara teaches 2/3 split grade at Louisa May Alcott Elementary, and Jason works at Sinclair Broadcast Group as a Senior Director of software development in Seattle. They have loved living in Washington with their two children Mackenzie and Aidan. Mackenzie attends Cedarcrest as a freshman and is having a great year playing soccer for the Red Wolves. Aidan is a 7th grader at Tolt who enjoys basketball and everything about cars. Sara and Jason appreciate their home in our lovely Snoqualmie Valley, taking walks with their two dogs on the Snoqualmie Valley trail and adventuring with their kids.

Tragically, on September 28th, Jason was on his way to meet a colleague for lunch around 11:30 a.m. and was struck head-on by a drunk driver on Tolt Hill Road. Jason was rushed to Harborview and treated for a fractured vertebrae and spinal injury which have left him paralyzed from the waist down.

We are so grateful that Jason made it through this alive, but his future looks very different now. Despite this, Jason and Sara are determined to tackle this challenge head-on. They have been an amazing example of positivity throughout all of this. Since the drunk driver was uninsured, the financial burden has fallen on the family. This GoFundMe is to help ease that burden as they transition into a “new normal”. This will require necessary renovations to their home (ramps, wider doorways, and a roll-in shower), a suitable wheelchair, and a vehicle with hand controls and accessibility, just to name a few.

Our funding goal of 50,000 is to help alleviate some of these costs and any other unexpected costs that may arise related to Jason’s recovery. Let’s show them the Love Carnation/Duvall!
