Dear Friends and Family:
I am having a wonderful year senior year at Poway High School, and feeling God's will to do more for the world around me.
I want to share with you a challenging ministry opportunity that has been presented to me. This December, I have a chance to join Uncle Bill, Aunt Darlene and Molly Rae in Haiti, with a group from Children’s Heritage Foundation and Canyon Springs Church. This 8-day mission trip will allow us to work with Haitian children at Good Rest Orphanage. We will provide a Vacation Bible Camp, work with the young teens on sewing projects to improve their skill sets for a possible income stream, work on the grounds at Good Rest to improve their living facility and most importantly spend time loving on the children at the orphanage.
While God has opened up a door for me to develop a greater heart of compassion for His people around the world, the exciting part is that you will be able to share in this compassion in several ways. First, you can help pray for me. I will need prayers that God will prepare me for this visit and bless our efforts as we minister to the people of Haiti. I will also need prayers that my financial needs will be met. At this time each person needs to raise $2,000 to attend this trip, and that is quite a challenge!
I will need to raise all my funds by November 25 in order to pay for airline tickets and other items. Whether you feel led to contribute financially, through prayer, or both, all of your support is appreciated.
I look forward to doing God's work in Haiti and letting you know all about how God has worked through this team when I return in January.
