Hace dos meses Meli sufrió un terrible accidente automovilístico de regresó de una salida de trabajo, del cual resultó con fractura en ambas muñecas por lo cual requirió cirugías, donde fue necesario ponerle placas de titanio en ambas muñecas por el grado de daño que sufrió. De igual manera ha sido necesario terapias de seguimiento para poder recuperar su movilidad completamente, aún hay un largo camino por recorrer.

Todo esto ha generado fuertes gastos médicos que no estaban contemplados que hasta el momento han podido ser solventados por su familia, actualmente la suma de gastos del hospital, operación, visitas al médico y terapia, es mayor a los 210 mil pesos.
Desafortunadamente Meli no contaba con seguro de gastos médicos mayores al momento del accidente, y solo se cubrirá una cuarta parte de los gastos con el seguro del automóvil.
Meli es una chica con un gran corazón que encontró su vocación certificándose como guía de senderismo y escalada, daba también clases de escalada para niños y se acaba de certificar como salvavidas de mar abierto. Por lo que la movilidad y fortaleza de sus muñecas es fundamental para continuar laborando en estas actividades.

Two months ago, while on her way home from a work outing -a hiking expedition-, Meli was in in a bad car accident, suffering from multiple fractures in both of her wrists that required surgery to have metal plates fitted on her bones. She also needed intensive post-operative physical therapy to regain full use of her hands, and, although she has started her physiotherapy sessions already, there is still a long road ahead of her.
This has led to major unexpected medical expenses. Fortunately, Melissa's family has so far been able to bear the cost of her treatments, although this has also had a big impact in the family's economy. At the moment, between hospital expenses, surgery, doctor appointments and physiotherapy, her bills exceed 210k pesos.
Unfortunately, Meli didn't have a major medical expenses insurance policy at the time of the accident, and the car insurance will only cover a fourth of her expenses.
Meli is a young woman with a huge heart who found her calling in becoming a certified hiking and climbing guide. She was also working as a swiming and climbing children's instructor, and had also just become a certified open sea lifeguard.
