Sarcoidosis Nightmare

Donation protected

January 2014 our story begins. This is the time my dad started to become really sick. After what we thought was several rounds of pneumonia we found out that wasn't the case at all. A few months later we were all pretty scared, as my dad was losing weight, couldn't breathe and was awaiting the results for lung cancer biopsy. We were relieved when that came back negative. However my dad continued to get sicker and sicker. During the summer we visited a few hospitals and added new symptoms and new doctors to the list. Currently my dad sees a pulmonologist, cardiologist, ophthalmologist, rheumatologist, gastrointestinal, and an allergy doc. This list continues to grow. My dad has been out of work since May and it doesn't look like his return to work will happen anytime soon. He's still pretty sick and now my family needs help with medical bills and to stay in their home. He has been diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, diabetes, eosinophilic esophagitis, vertigo, joint pain, swelling, and eye issues. Insurance denied the last hospital stay because of the vagueness of the sarcoidosis. Short-term disability is running out and my parents need help with the ever-growing list of co-pays and medications on top of keeping their home and their car. The very nature of sarcoidosis will make it difficult for my dad to qualify for long-term disability. My family appreciates anything you can do to help.
