Fetching Tails Heading to Houston!

Fetching Tails Foundation, a 501(c)3 dog rescue in Chicagoland (Tax ID: 47-3210253), is teaming up with our rescue friends from Players for Pits and One Tail at a Time to head down to Houston and help clean-up efforts after the devastation brought on to shelters and rescues down there after Hurricane Harvey. We usually focus our efforts on helping dogs in need in our local area, but when a disaster of this magnitude hits, we cant just sit back and do nothing. It hurts our hearts too much to see photos like the one above, and we have to do what we can to help.

So a few of our volunteers, as well as volunteers from OTAT and Players will head down to Houston on Thursday and stay through the weekend. We will use all money raised through this fundraiser to purchase supplies that are needed by Houston-area shelters and also to care for the dogs that we will bring back with us. In addition to purchasing supplies (such as collars/leashes and crates) ahead of our trip, we will also be distributing checks to shelters we visit while down there so they can purchase the supplies they will need in the to clean, rebuild, and treat the animals in their care.  Our first stop is the intake facility set up by Best Friends Animal Society at the Montgomery Fairgrounds in Conroe, TX, to help with intake and caretaking of the hundreds of stray pets that have been saved so far.

Any donation big or small would be appreciated so we can provide financial help the shelters and rescues we assist in Texas.
