Fergus’s bionic leg

Hi pals, we heard of our pal Fergus becoming very poorly on 6th April with a droopy and very broken leg. This happened as he was playing and chasing his mum Tinker in the garden (as he has done a hundred times before).
Unfortunately, the leg break was very near the joint, so his lovely local vet ( who helped look after Fergus and his siblings when they were very little pups!) clearly saw that it’s not a simple operation/fix that he was able to properly help with.
Fergus’s lovely hoomans have been referred to a very good specialist vet for the operation to fix the break. Without this specialist help, there is a significantly less probability of a proper fix, and leg amputation was even mentioned as a worst case scenario.
The Tinker/Fergus family has grown recently, with new little Baby Bobbie joining the lovely toddler Thomas, which was wonderful news. As all new parents have to juggle their finances, this a made a touch more delicate as both of Tinker/Fergus’s Mum and dad are self employed (with minimum maternity and paternity income).
Both Mum & Dad Tinker are exceptionally aware and respectful of the responsibility and costs that come with dog ownership. However, unfortunately Fergus’s leg break has happened at possibly the worst financial time for the family in many years.
Fergus has insurance to cover a significant part of the cost, but there is an additional several thousand pounds which are not covered.
I know many of you have been moved by the plight of Fergus, and probably realise that the best of option for him is not quite met by his insurance. If you would like to help bridge the gap, please feel free to may a donation below.
The exact cost of the operation is yet to be determined by the specialists’ detailed assessment, and if there is so much support for our pal Fergus that it exceeds the cost, there will be a donation made to Border Terrier Welfare (and we will communicate this if it’s the case).
