I am the band director at Ferguson Middle School, and have noticed that each year I teach, my budget shrinks. More students could participate in band if I had working instruments!
All 25 instruments that were sitting in a music store waiting to be repaired are now repaired and back at my school and several new band students are already using them as beginners! Thank you to those who donated to my original goal of $1600!
Any extra donations will help me purchase supplies like reeds (around $20-30 for a box of 10 depending on the instrument), small percussion instruments (I need a bell tree, which is a little over $100), a whole set of Essential Elements band books (5 books for 10 different band instruments @ around $9.00 each equal about $450.00), and new sheet music (about $30-60 for one new piece).
