Feeding Project - La Saline, Haiti

Donation protected
Can you identify the items in the picture?  Many think they are ceremic plates or bowls.  Actually, they are mud pies.  Literally mud pies.  The people in La Saline do not have enough food to feed their children - they know they are going to die - and they don't want them to die with nothing in their stomach.  So they feed them these mud pies - which of course have no nutritional value...and are full of bacteria.

In late September 2017, our church will be sending a group back to La Saline.  One of our goals is to not only provide a meal for the day - but to provide more.  Maybe a weeks worth of food for each child we feed.  We are planning to purchase rice and beans (in Haiti - putting money into their economy) and hopefully purchasing nutriion packets that can be cooked with the rice and beans - providing more of a healthy punch to the basic food items.

The funds will be used to purchase the rice and beans in Haiti, the nutrition packets here in the US, and bags to distribute the food.

This project wil obviously not solve the hunger problem in La Saline or Haiti for that matter - but it will give some relief to the suffering of the children (and adults) who suffer from hunger related issues. Through this project we can reach out and change someone's world - even for a little while.

I am greatful for the time you have taken to read about the plight of the people of La Saline - and greatful for anyway you may give - monetary, prayers or just spreading the word about thi project.  Together we can begin to make a difference.
