Feed the Cows for the Winter

Since we are not having an in-person New Talavan Cow Festival this year we wanted to still offer you the opportunity to help support the cows here at New Talavan Farm. We felt the best way to do that would be to have a crowd fundraiser to feed these beautiful protected Cows here at New Talavan.

 

New Talavan Farm currently has 48 protected cows. During the winter months the cows are fed hay. The mama milk cows eat a special grass called rye grass. Rye grass grows during the winter months and gives the mama milk cows the nutrients that they need.

 

The rye grass is planted on a 30 acre plot of land. The initial seed will be planted and fertilized this month and then fertilized again in a few months. Finally it will be baled before the hot months come. Rye grass does not grow during the hot summer months.

 

You have the wonderful opportunity to feed the cows for the winter! Everything helps. We are sure that Lord Sri Krsna Govinda, the protector of the cows, will bless you for whatever amount you can give. Please give from your heart.
